Awesome! First shepherd's pie for your wife! I love it when you talk about the colours of autumn that you wanted to bring to the plate. I think the psychology behind bringing colours into our day with colourful foods is an overlooked beauty xox

Love shepherds pie. It truly is a fall favorite. A lot of people here make it with ground beef. We prefer ground lamb.

I usually make it with ground beef but I have yet to try it with lamb, and I can't wait! You say a lot of people make it with ground beef where you are, where is that for you?

We live in Minnesota now and it is most always made with ground beef but when I was a kid living in the UK it was traditionally made with diced or ground lamb. Thus “shepherds pie”.

I'm exactly the same! 😊 I daydream a lot when I'm cooking. It's like my thoughts are flowing like a river, haha I really try to be mindful, but it's extremely difficult. During meditation retreats, we try to practice mindful working daily. Often, this involves helping in the kitchen and cutting veggies. Despite my best efforts, it's still so difficult, even during the retreats. Happy Sunday Otis 🖤

It's a challenge that keeps coming back to the cook. Daydreaming is awesome though, but it becomes too much once it passes the line of rumination. I like the attempt to practice mindful working daily, I feel the only time I can have for that is when I'm cooking, oh dear, here is the loop. I appreciate the comment, and am looking forward to Tuesday!
